General Information
Entry visas to Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR)

  • Nationals of about 170 countries and territories may visit Hong Kong visa-free for a period ranging from 7 days to 180 days.
  • Please check the Hong Kong Immigration Department website to learn whether you need a visa or entry permit to enter Hong Kong a visit or transit.
  • Participants who need a visa or entry permit to attend the conference should obtain the appropriate visa or entry permit before traveling to HKSAR.
  • Subject to the processing time by the Hong Kong Immigration Department, an entry visa/permit will usually take 6 to 8 weeks to process. Participants are highly reminded to allow sufficient time to process your visa application.
  • The APCIEE Conference Secretariat can provide a Letter of Invitation to registered participants who require a visa or entry permit to attend the conference.
  • Please send in your request to apcieevisa@ust.hk if you would require a Letter of Invitation to apply for an entry visa or entry permit.
  • After confirmation by Conference Secretariat, the Letter of Invitation will be sent to participant by email and will usually take between 7 to 10 working days.
China visa for the Great Bay Area Tour (GBA Tour)

  • Participants who will join the GBA Tour may be required to have a valid China visa to enter China.
  • Participants can apply for a visa at the Chinese embassy or consulate in the region in which they live.
  • Participants are highly advised to apply for the China visa at least one month in advance.
  • The APCIEE Conference Secretariat can provide a Letter of Invitation to GBA Tour participants who require the China visa
  • Please send in your request to apcieevisa@ust.hk if you would require a Letter of Invitation.
  • After confirmation by Conference Secretariat, the Letter of Invitation will be sent to participant by email and will usually take between 7 to 10 working days.

Note:

All questions/concerns regarding the status of participants’ visa should be sent to the Hong Kong Immigration Department or the Embassy in your home country as the Conference Secretariat is not authorized to assist with the visa process beyond providing a Letter of Invitation.
